I offer “In-love” sessions commemorating the beautiful relationships people build in loving each other all throughout their relationship. Having gotten into photography during the digital age, I haven’t had much exposure to shooting with film. However, I recently acquired an old Canon Rebel and have been itching to test it out. So yesterday morning, I bundled up, made myself a cup of coffee, loaded a roll of Fuji 400 speed film into the camera, and went exploring. Here are a few scans from my trek.

Beautiful pictures. I gave my husband the same camera several years ago. He needs to take lessons from you! ((-:
Taking a little vacay from photo shootin’ during this holiday season. However, to wet your whistle, here are a few frames I took of my little sis over Thanksgiving break.

Today is my 30th birthday. I’m not gonna lie. I struggled with this one for a bit. Ok, full disclosure: I’ve BEEN struggling with this one since the day I turned 26.
I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I think there is just something about saying it out loud that just scares me a little. Thirty. Thuuuur-tee. I also think I’m bothered by the fact that to teenagers and kids everywhere, I’m SO OLD. Weird, right? At any rate, I am in my 30’s now whether I like it or not, so I think I’m going to choose to like it.
We celebrated my birthday last night at Rumours in the 12th South area of Nashville. It was a blast! I’m incredibly grateful for all my friends who showed up to celebrate. I can’t even express how loved you made me all feel last night. I owe a huge, HUGE thanks so my wonderful husband Keith and our dear friend Jess who planned the party and made everything happen. You guys are the best!
The room we reserved was too tiny to set up the elaborate photo booth I was planning. However, because I’m sooooo mature now, I came up with a plan B and we totally ghetto-rigged a smaller photo booth set up which was still equally as fun. Every image below makes my heart smile. I have some pretty awesome friends.

It’s rare that I get even more excited about a shoot WHILE editing it. Most photographers will tell you that the editing process is not their favorite part of the job. However, with this shoot, I got more and more excited with every image I pulled up in Photoshop.
Andy and Catie are beautiful people inside and out. Taking pictures of them was effortless. They exude such genuine love for one another that my job was easy.
My husband and I first met Andy and Catie a little over a year ago through a multi-level web of mutual friends. (Because Nashville is, indeed, as small of a town as everyone says it is.) Andy and my husband hit if off because they are both in the music industry and can pretty much talk about music stuff for hours on end. Catie is so cute and adorable that I just want to put her in my pocket and take her home with me. She also has a great sense of style and picked out their outfits for the shoot, including her grandmother’s hand-sewn vintage lace wedding dress, how killer is that?!?!
Thank you, Andy and Catie for allowing me to capture your love for each other. I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

I love it when I can surprise a bride-to-be with pictures of the day she was proposed to. The marriage proposal is such a special moment on the journey of love but is often not documented. That’s why, when Kyle contacted me about taking pictures while he proposed to his girlfriend Kelsey, I was immediately on board.
Kyle and Kelsey went on a scavenger hunt in Downtown Franklin, going in and out of shops to gather clues and complete a “map” of their love. I arranged a fake photo shoot with my friends Cait and Catie and we positioned ourselves where I could LOOK like I was taking pictures of Cait and Catie but I would actually be taking pictures of Kelsey and Kyle. It worked out great! Kelsey had no idea! Kyle and Kelsey even walked right by us and made comments about how they were sorry they were getting in our way. =) The afternoon was filled with so many smiles and so much love. I felt honored to be a part of it. Anyway, without further ado, here are Kyle and Kelsey’s pictures:
I positioned myself so I could get them going into one of the last stores before the proposal…

Then they walked to Lulu, the last store before the proposal.

While Kyle and Kelsey were in Lulu, friends and family gathered outside the front of the store to prepare for the big moment…

And then, with Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” playing in the backgroud, the proposal.

She said yes. Then after that, Kyle and Kelsey were in their own little world. =)

After they spent some time celebrating with friends and family, I took Kyle and Kelsey behind the store for a few minutes so we could grab a few shots with just the two of them.

Congratulations Kelsey and Kyle! I was blessed to have been a part of your special moment. Can’t wait for the big day!
Click on the video below to watch footage of the actual proposal video.
But wait….this post isn’t over yet. Since my friends Cait and Catie were such good sports and agreed to help me pull off my fake photo shoot idea, I couldn’t let them go away with out taking some pictures of them. Stay tuned tomorrow for some images from my “fake photo shoot” with Cait and Catie!

Here are some images from a wedding I shot on a perfect August day with my friend, Joy. Josh and Bethani were absolutely lovely. The day was too beautiful for words, so here are some pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. =)
