Chad + Erin // Nashville Wedding03.31.12
I was looking through 2011 photos today in order to place a print order for a client, and I came across some wedding images that I never blogged! This past fall, I had the privilege of second shooting the wedding of fellow Nashville photographer, Erin Thacker Goad. The day was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and love was in the air.

Nate + Ashley – Franklin Engagement03.03.12
I’ve been dying to post pics of Nate and Ashely’s engagement shoot. And, after the tornado-y weather we had in Nashville yesterday, I think it’s just the perfect time to post the bright and sunny shoot.
Nate and Ashley drove up from Memphis for this shoot. We spent the afternoon together and I had such a great time with them. They are a lovely couple who love to have fun and love each other. I can’t wait for their wedding in a few months!

My first wedding02.12.12
I just finished watching a documentary on the Foo Fighters and it made me think of the very first wedding I ever shot. When Drew called and asked if I would take pictures at his wedding I was soooooooooo nervous! I didn’t think I would be able to handle the pressure of SUCH a big day. However, when they day finally arrived, THAT day was the day I fell in love with wedding photography. I loved every minute of sharing that day with such a sweet couple and knew I wanted to do more. I’m so thankful that Drew and Carrie gave me a chance to document their wedding day, and opened the door for me to become a wedding photographer.
But back to the beginning. Why would a Foo Fighters documentary remind me of my first wedding? Look at the images below and see if you can figure it out…

Film Work12.24.11
Having gotten into photography during the digital age, I haven’t had much exposure to shooting with film. However, I recently acquired an old Canon Rebel and have been itching to test it out. So yesterday morning, I bundled up, made myself a cup of coffee, loaded a roll of Fuji 400 speed film into the camera, and went exploring. Here are a few scans from my trek.

It’s party time!11.22.11
Today is my 30th birthday. I’m not gonna lie. I struggled with this one for a bit. Ok, full disclosure: I’ve BEEN struggling with this one since the day I turned 26.
I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I think there is just something about saying it out loud that just scares me a little. Thirty. Thuuuur-tee. I also think I’m bothered by the fact that to teenagers and kids everywhere, I’m SO OLD. Weird, right? At any rate, I am in my 30’s now whether I like it or not, so I think I’m going to choose to like it.
We celebrated my birthday last night at Rumours in the 12th South area of Nashville. It was a blast! I’m incredibly grateful for all my friends who showed up to celebrate. I can’t even express how loved you made me all feel last night. I owe a huge, HUGE thanks so my wonderful husband Keith and our dear friend Jess who planned the party and made everything happen. You guys are the best!
The room we reserved was too tiny to set up the elaborate photo booth I was planning. However, because I’m sooooo mature now, I came up with a plan B and we totally ghetto-rigged a smaller photo booth set up which was still equally as fun. Every image below makes my heart smile. I have some pretty awesome friends.

Erin-you are so talented! So wish you were still in OC:)
Thanks Trisha! I’ll be there in April! However, you could always pack up the fam and come for a Nashville visit. ;)
